Level Up – Episode #9

In this episode, we give a brief overview of a team-based player-versus-player event that’s going to be happening at this year’s GenCon.  Also, Benoit gets inspired (yuk yuk) to make a warlord, and Hamblin gives him some advice on how to tweak it.  Finally, we have our magic item segment, where Hamblin talks about some arms slot items for the non-melee characters.

Level Up — Episode #8

In this episode of the podcast, we discuss a couple useful magic items: Iron Armbands of Power and the Cincture of Vivacity.

Also, we continue our discussion of avengers, and present our hybrid avenger/warden build.  The basic idea behind this build is to make the most out of the one attack you’re going to get each turn by adding your Wisdom modifier to damage as many times as possible.

Level Up — Episode #7

We’re back from RegulatorCon and we have a lot to talk about!  On this week’s episode, we discuss a kit of items for maxing out your leader’s healing potential.  We respond to a listener email about options for multiclassing on a cleric.  And finally, we respond to the question in this article from the Dungeon’s Master blog: are avengers the worst striker ever?

As always, we welcome your comments and feedback.  Leave a comment below, email us at podcast@rovingbandofmisfits.com, or send a tweet to Benoit or Hamblin.

Level Up – Episode #6: Live from RegulatorCon!

In this special episode, Benoit heads to RegulatorCon to interview some folks about their characters and character ideas.  Hamblin was busy this week DM’ing for some of the people you’ll be hearing.  We hope you enjoy this episode, and we’ll be back to our regular format next week.

As always, send your feedback and questions to us by leaving a comment here, emailing us at podcast@rovingbandofmisfits.com, or sending us a tweet at @BandOfMisfits or @Fr0nch.

In this episode:

  • Several different gamers talking about their characters
  • We also ran into some other podcasters who were kind enough to give us an interview about their characters. Their podcast is 1d4 cast; go check them out.

Level Up – Episode #5

In this episode, Hamblin defends his dismissive attitude towards the Dark Pact Warlock.  He may also admit he was wrong. So that’s one reason to listen right there.  Benoit also discusses his heroic tier neck slot choices, and we both talk about ways to make the game more fun if you’re feeling bored at the table. Also, as a reminder, the contest to name the angry die man in our podcast logo is still underway!  Get your entries to @Fr0nch, @BandOfMisfits, podcast@rovingbandofmisfits, or in the Episode 4 comments. The prize is a handpainted mini of your choosing.  By way of clarification, Benoit will paint the mini and ship it back to you, but if the shipping costs more than $5, Benoit will ask you to pick up the rest.

Level Up – Episode #4

Get out your blocks of cheddar and stick ‘em in the freezer kids, because Hamblin is going to tell you how to make Frost Cheese this week!  We also talk about Hamblin’s experience at PAX East this past weekend.  In our weekly magic item discussion, we start talking about Heroic tier neck slot items (to be continued next week).

We’re also starting a contest to name the “angry die man” in our fancy new logo.  If you have a good name for the little guy, put it in a comment, email us at podcast@rovingbandofmisfits.com, or send us a tweet.  Benoit will paint a mini for the winner, which we’ll announce in two weeks.

Level Up – Episode #3

In this episode Benoit extols the virtues of Acrobatic Boots, and leads us to believe that you will pry this level 2 magic item from his “cold dead feet.”  Hamblin tries to convince him that there may be better foot slot items.

We also finish our discussion of the various warlock pacts, and respond to a listener question about monk paragon paths.

Level Up! Episode #1

We are proud to present the first episode of our new podcast: Level Up!
